For more than 100 years, JFS of Greater New Haven has been dedicated to preserving and strengthening individual, family, and community life within the Jewish and broader New Haven communities. We provide a wide range of services, resources and opportunities, including our food pantry, adoption services, foster care, counseling, tutoring, job training, and elder care services. JFSGNH currently seeks an Executive Director to build on the agency’s existing programs and to set the course for its future. We are looking for an individual who is motivated to inspire all stakeholders in the important work of JFSGNH—employees, directors, donors, strategic partners, and clients. It’s a tall order.

We are looking for an individual with experience, who understands and can practice the principles of sound fiscal management; an engaging leader and exceptional communicator; a proven fundraiser who can provide direction and inspiration to the organization; a master architect of strategic, business, and operational planning; a skilled and experienced collaborator who will strive for innovative program and service delivery. This individual will report to and work in collaboration with a committed Board of Directors and must be able to encourage the development of strong community relationships.

The candidate must have significant experience in senior organizational leadership at an Executive Director or CEO level. Our ideal candidate will also bring passion and vision to this particular leadership role. We require a strong business focus, as well as a well-developed knowledge of the social services sector.

JFSGNH is the social services provider of the New Haven Jewish community, and therefore, the position requires above all a commitment to the core Jewish values of the agency.

COLORADO

GROUP HOME MANAGER-JEWISH FAMILY SERVICE OF COLORADO

Position Summary: The position supervises the day-to-day operations of the Jewish Group Home.  This position has the responsibility and authority for program management and development.            

Qualifications:   
A.      Education:    Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field preferred.
B.      Experience:    Minimum of five years’ management of a Residential Group Home for people with developmental disabilities.        

Responsibilities:                
A.     Train and supervise staff in health, safety, and operational policies and responsibilities related to the Group     Home.
B.     Implement operating plans including goals, objectives, and measurements. Contribute to the development of     these goals.
C.     Organize tasks and personnel to accomplish objectives and meet departmental goals.
D.     Provide direct supervision to group home residents as needed.
E.     Participate in screening, selection, and hiring of group home staff.
F.     Monitor and evaluate performance of all assigned employees. Recommend personnel actions and carry out     such actions upon review of Human Resource Director.
G.     Review and prepare statistical reports for funders and management as required.
H.     Represent the Agency to other agencies and the public.
I.     Participate in meetings as required.
J.     Ensure adequate staff coverage at the Group Home at all times, substitute for staff as needed.
K.     Comply with federal, state, and local rules and regulations regarding Group Home services at all times. Develop plans of correction in response to any recommendations of regulatory agencies.
L.     Complete and submit all required paperwork and reports to funding agencies on time as required.
M.     Monitor all medication inventory and distribution to residents to assure accuracy and client safety.
N.     Train all staff on use of operations manual and update manual as needed.
O.     Supervise menu planning and ordering of food and supplies in accordance with rules of Kashrut.
P.     Support residents and staff in observance of Jewish holidays.
Q.     Access van maintenance and repair services on a regular basis.
R.     Supervise the development and implementation of residents' Individual Support Plans, with emphasis on     maximum independence and community inclusion.
S.     Coordinate staff schedules and duties to assure maximum effectiveness and efficiency.
T.     Facilitate resident input meetings monthly
U.     Facilitate staff meetings monthly.
V.     Develop, implement, and monitor annual department goals and individual staff goals in concert with Disability Service Director.
W.     Manage all clients' personal needs funds in accordance with regulator agency and Jewish Family Service     requirements.
X.     Access all facility maintenance and repair services as needed.

Other Duties/Qualifications
A.     Must be able to carry or lift up to 35 pounds.
B.     Drive a l5-passenger van. Possess a clean driving record.

ACCOUNTING AND FINANCE MANAGER to provide fiscal leadership, strategic direction, and management for the organization’s financial and accounting functions. The individual will understand the budget process and be able to prepare and present accurate financial information. Knowledge in the area of fiscal controls essential. EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR-JEWISH FAMILY SERVICE OF NASHVILLE AND MIDDLE TENNESSEE


The Board of Directors delegates to the Executive Director the authority to implement all policies and to operate the agency.  The Executive Director’s specific responsibilities and duties include:

Policy Making
* To advise the Board of agency operations and thus enable the Board to carry out its policy-making responsibilities.
* In cooperation with the President, to elicit and engage members of the Board for their contributions to the agency.
* In cooperation with the Board Development Committee, staff, and officers to conduct orientations for new Board members.
* To serve as ex-officio member of all committees and contact individual members to stimulate their involvement.

Case Work Supervision
* To strive for standards of practice at the level required for accreditation by the COA.

Program and Service Planning and Implementation
* To be responsible for the overall planning, implementation, operation, and evaluation of agency programs and service.
* To design a system of programs and services that will achieve the agency’s goals and objectives within the framework of available resources.
* To keep informed of developments and trends in the field of services for family and children.
* To be aware of changing community needs and patterns of service delivery.
* To develop and conduct annual review of staff and evaluation of programs and modify current programs and services to meet community needs.
* With the Board, evaluate the Strategic Plan annually and to project future programs in order to update the Strategic Plan.

Public Relations and Fund Raising
* To generate income by personally visiting and soliciting community individuals and groups, including current and future Board member if applicable.
* To generate income for agency operations by developing appropriate programs and services.
* With Board approval and assistance to seek out and apply for additional funding and take responsibility for writing and submitting grants necessary to obtain funding of new and existing programs.
* To participate actively with agency funding sources, such as the Jewish Federation of Nashville and Middle Tennessee and United Way.
* To assist the Board and take responsibility for the implementation of special fund raising events.
* To provide for publicity and public education directly related to increasing community awareness, support, and use of the agency.
* To promote inter-agency networking in the Nashville non-profit and social service community.
* To participate in local, regional, and national committees as well as activities of relevance to the Jewish community.

Personnel Management and Relationships
* To recommend agency staffing needs to the Board and maintain effective staff within budgetary guidelines.
* To hire, assign, develop, train, evaluate, promote, and terminate staff in accordance with the personnel policies and to inform the Executive Committee of these decisions.
* To implement a program of regular staff meetings at least bi-weekly with each staff member.
* To work with the President and President-elect in recommending yearly salary adjustments to the Board.
* To help recruit and develop good rapport with volunteers.
* To maintain a staff development plan.
* To solicit input from staff in assisting the Board in formulation of agency policies and procedures including personnel practices.
* To maintain open lines of communication with the Executive Directors of all Jewish agencies in the community.

Fiscal Management and Control
* To work with the Board in development of fiscal policies and procedures and short- and long-term planning.
* To prepare agency budgets for Board approval.
* To administer the agency’s programs within its budgetary provision and fiduciary responsibility.
* To monitor and control budgeted expenses and income.
* To provide the Board with periodic reports reflecting operations and projecting anticipated financial outcome.

Minimum Qualifications
1. Masters degree from an accredited school of social work with work experience and/or
2. A graduate degree related to the administration of a nonprofit agency with work experience and/or

Extensive experience commensurate with either 1 or 2.

PENNSYLVANIA

MANAGER OF OPEN ARMS ADOPTION NETWORK’S SOUTH JERSEY BRANCH-CHERRY HILL, NEW JERSEY


SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Director of Open Arms Adoption Network, (a program of JFCS of Greater Philadelphia), the Manager of Open Arms Adoption Network’s South Jersey Branch in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, is responsible for all aspects of Open Arms’ adoption program in New Jersey. Duties include coordination, supervision, and oversight of fee-for-service providers of home studies and post-placement reports, provides social work services and outreach to pregnant women considering the option of adoption, provides social work services and outreach for families hoping to be adoptive parents and facilitates adoptions in the states of New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Serves as primary representative for the New Jersey services offered by Open Arms Adoption Network
2. Creates and maintains strong visibility for Open Arms in the new South Jersey branch office.
3. Provides information to prospective adoptive and birth families about services available through Open Arms Adoption Network through regularly scheduled information sessions, individual meetings, and other methods as appropriate.
4. Assigns and oversees activities and work product of fee-for-service home study and post placement reports, and serves as liaison between family, placing agency and contractors. Provides non-biased counseling to pregnant clients considering the option of adoption.
5. Provides ongoing post placement counseling to birth families and adoptive families.
6. Takes leadership role in providing ongoing outreach and education (for both potential birthparents and potential adoptive parents) in the state of New Jersey
7. Assists in the coordination and facilitation of information meetings and trainings for adoptive parents and prospective adoptive parents
8. Assists in the recruitment of participants to attend day-long trainings for health care providers on the option of infant adoption
9. Performs other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management tasks as necessary

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor of social work degree required, Master’s preferred.
2. Minimum 3 years of experience providing adoption counseling and placement services, with a minimum of one year of supervisory experience preferred.
3. Excellent interpersonal skills, with demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills
4. Demonstrated self-starter, able to work independently
5. Must be an experienced professional in facilitating lifelong open adoptions
6. Must be skilled at and comfortable speaking to groups about topics related to adoption.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
1. Must have valid PA or NJ driver’s license and good driving record
2. Must have motor vehicle available for regular use and a willingness to travel throughout state when necessary (with mileage reimbursement)
3. Required to work evening and weekend on scheduled rotation basis and sometimes without advance notice due to nature of work.
